When we establish a company, there are some common questions will be asked. Same goes to Monanie Family Enterprise Bintulu. They've already established for 16 years and become so famous and recently, they sell their products at Singapore. What an excellent achievement. Of course many people pondering why we picked this company as our subject.
So here are information about Monanie Family Enterprise Bintulu:-
When did they establish?
Monanie Family started their operation in 2002. With only RM50.00, they started to sell traditional food as breakfast in the morning. But, the owner, Puan Razuna Kiprawi, said there were so many competitors on that time so she had to change their business to fisheries products. During that time, she just gave birth to her youngest children, a pair of twins. She had to struggle alone since her husband was really busy working as an engineer. Luckily, her mother-in-law offered her help on that time.
Why did they named their company as Monanie Family Enterprise Bintulu?
Word Monanie derived from Puan Razuna and her husband's nickname (Which is Ghani). The word Family of course because they started their company as a family business since Puan Razuna's mother-in-law was involved. While word Bintulu come from the place she stay and manage her company.
How did they manage to get Halal Cert?
Puan Razuna once said that she had to go through a very hard time getting the Halal certificate that she almost give up at one point. Firstly, their company have to fill forms, then officers from JAKIM have to come to their premise and inspect it for several times before giving Halal Certification. Monanie Family Enterprise Bintulu got their Halal certificate on 2008 after 2 years going through very strict inspections. Monanie Family Entreprise Bintulu also manage to get their Mesti certificate and they are on their way to get Sirim's approval.
Do they have partners?
No. Since they want to keep it that way. They only operate the company with their family members. Monanie Family Enterprise Bintulu does not have any workers except for their family members.
How do they get their suppliers?
For fisheries products, they will go to the dock on time after the ships come back from open sea. Puan Razuna has several suppliers there. For 'udang geragau' which is one of 'Belacan Bintulu' ingredients, she has to buy it in a very large quantity since it has its own season. We can't get this kind of crustacean the whole time. So Puan Razuna has to fight with her competitors to get them. Meanwhile for sago, Puan Razuna has a supplier from Kampung Jepak which located about 20 minutes from their premise. For other miscellaneous ingredients, she will try to get it from local stores.
Who will inherit their legacy one day?
Well, Puan Razuna and her husband already married for over than 25 years and they are blessed with 4 children- a son and 3 daughters. She once said that she maybe inherit her company to her youngest daughter since she is the only one who really show interest and offer the most help among her siblings.
What about the competition since 'Belacan Bintulu' is really famous in Bintulu?
There are so many competitors since there are so many people doing 'Belacan Bintulu' business especially in 'Pasar Tamu' which located not far away from Monanie Family Enterprise Bintulu's premise. But, Puan Razuna herself claims that their 'Belacan Bintulu' is one of a kind. They are the only 'Belacan Bintulu' that succesfully got the Halal Certificate and they already had their own trademark.
